Terms & Conditions

Effective October 2, 2026

Welcome to DayCareScout ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of daycarescout.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, creating an account, or purchasing a paid upgrade, you agree to these Terms.

1. About DayCareScout

DayCareScout is a directory that helps parents find licensed child care providers in Florida. The Site is free for parents. Daycare owners can claim their listing for free and can choose optional paid upgrades. We do not provide child care, and we are not a party to any arrangement between a parent and a provider.

2. Accounts

Parents and daycare owners can create accounts. You agree to give us accurate information, to keep your login details secure, and to tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these Terms.

3. Listing information

Provider listings are based on public licensing information published by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Licensing and inspection details can change, so please confirm a provider's license and inspection history with DCF before choosing care. A listing on the Site is not an endorsement or recommendation of any provider, and we do not guarantee that any provider has openings.

4. Claiming a listing

Claiming a listing is free. We verify each claim using the provider's license number and the phone number on file. By claiming a listing, you confirm that you are authorized to manage it and that the information you add is accurate. One owner account can manage several centers, and each center is claimed and verified separately. An "openings" notice you set expires after 30 days unless you confirm it is still available.

5. Paid upgrades

Owners can buy optional paid upgrades. Paid upgrades add visibility only: a labeled "Featured" spot, extra photos and video, a highlighted "Accepting new children" banner, and text alerts for tour requests. Paid upgrades never buy the license badge, inspection information, or any control over reviews.

Paid upgrades are billed through Stripe on a recurring plan, either monthly or annually, and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and your upgrade stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not give refunds for a partial billing period.

6. Reviews and content you post

Parents are responsible for the reviews and other content they post. Please keep reviews truthful, and do not include personal details about a child. You give us permission to display the content you post on the Site.

We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, off-topic, or that include personal details about a child. Paying for an upgrade never lets an owner remove or change a review.

7. Text message alerts

Owners with paid upgrades can receive text message alerts about new tour requests at the phone number they provide. By providing your number for this purpose, you agree to receive these alerts. You can stop them at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fake reviews or listing information
  • Claim a listing you are not authorized to manage
  • Impersonate another person or provider
  • Interfere with the Site or try to access accounts or data that are not yours

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Site will always be available or error-free, or that listing information, reviews, or openings are complete or current. We do not guarantee that a paid upgrade will bring any number of tour requests or enrollments.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DayCareScout is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including any decision you make about a child care provider. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site will not exceed the amount you paid us for paid upgrades in the 12 months before the claim. Parents use the Site free of charge.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on this page, and the "Effective" date at the top will be updated to reflect the most recent revision.
